The South-South Trust Fund

Overview
The Voluntary Trust Fund for South-South Cooperation (SSTF) was established within UNDP in 1996, in accordance with United Nations General Assembly resolution 50/119. Japan has been the largest contributor, followed by China, Republic of Korea and Ireland as shown in the summary chart below.

Contributions to the South-South Cooperation Trust Fund and Cost Sharing

Between 1997 and 2003, about US$33.05 million was contributed and mobilized for South-South Cooperation from both developed and developing countries. Table 1 shows the breakdown of annual contributions.
